Municipal public space linked to the Secretary of Environment and Sustainability, the Recife Botanical Garden is set in a conservation area with 10,7 hectares of Atlantic Forest. It's open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 3:30PM. Admission is free. The Garden has seven themed gardens: Cacti, Bromeliads, Orchids, Palms, Medicinal Plants, Sensory and Tropical. Visitors should bring water and a snack. Groups of 10-30 people who want to monitor follow-up should schedule by telephone at (81) 3355-0002 and 3355-0000 . There are guided trails and exhibits. In addition to the public area of leisure and contemplation, the space houses a technical team that conducts research focused on botany, forest restoration and conservation of the Atlantic Forest's biodiversity.
